I strolled along the rooftop's ledge. Stories below me, a few humans strolled, a few vampires. Nothing special. I sighed, my hand trailed along behind me in the night breeze. It felt nice. My feet stepped softly, one in front of the other, toe pointed out before setting down as I seemed to dance across the ledge. My fingers lingering behind my hand, following along behind me. I loved the heights. I loved the rooftops.

My haven after a long day, well, night.

I sighed and spun around gracefully. I stopped directly on the corner of the ledge, staring out across The Heart, even other parts of the city. My hair still messy as usually, the breeze catching on the edges of the black tangles.

My black eyes gazed out across the vastness, the glow of amber streetlights reaching up to touch my face. My memories coasted to Jean-Claude, the human...Anastasia...

Another sigh released itself from my mouth...oh well...

And yet you are all that intrigues me...

Anastasia was out and strolling about on the rooftops as per her norm. She liked to look down upon the city and see things that others may entirely miss...a woman and man behind a tree, a young girl in an alley picking from the dumpster, a blind man and his dog. All things everyone seemed to mis in their "perfect" little worlds. Not that it mattered much to her either, but at least she noticed.

She jumped down from the building she had been walking on, and came upon someone else sitting at the edge. She looked him over and recognized the mussed up hair and dark clothes. It was Syyn, the lovely young male she had met, what a week ago? She smiled and unconciously smoothed out her clothes. Tonight she was wearing a dark green corset with purple rhinestones and black jeans as well as her green and purple converse.

She approached him noiselessly, although she had no doubt he already knew she was there. She bent over and looked over his shoulder. Ah, the Heart. Quite intriguing when you really look at it. she said in a mocking dream-like tone. And how are we tonight, Syyn? I do hope you've remembered me. she said in a her trademark calm tone.

"Why hello..."

I sat and dangled a foot over the edge, the other leg pulled tightly to my chest, my arms wrapped around it as I stared at the city.

'Ah, the Heart. Quite intriguing when you really look at it.'

I nodded. God...I loved her voice. Smooth, cool...

'And how are we tonight, Syyn? I do hope you've remembered me...'

I glanced to my right to see her bent over next to me.

"Just as well as usually, Ana."

I smirked and turned my head to look at her fully, a swish of black across my face and hiding one black eye.

"How might you be, love?"

I smirked my signature smirk. Crooked, slashed across my pale skin. I blinked kohl lined eyes.

"Good I presume. If not, tell me who to kill."

I chuckled lightly with my words. One hand unwrapping from my leg and patting the concrete next to me. She didn't seem like she was in a hurry to leave. Not just yet. Hopefully she'd stay awhile.

I was falling before you were born

She smiled as he nodded his head in agreement with her. Well, she was half right; there were some pretty nice sights in The Heart. She silently laughed to herself, and was pleased in the fact that he even got her name right. And when he turned to look at her, her smile even became a little brighter. She loved his dark eyes and his hair. It made him a little more mysterious, and she did love mysteries.

She swept back a stray strand of hair as he enquired about how she had been. The smirk he gave her seemed to be laced with charm, and charm it did. Then as he spoke his next words, she laughed in her lovely melodic tones. As he patted the ground she took a seat beside him, her laughter dieing down.

All is well in the realm of Ana. And how have you been as of late? Anyone I might need to kill? she responded, while crossing her legs and falling back so she could supposrt herself with her hands.

I looked over at her as she sat. She seemed content enough. I liked that. Her laugh killed me inside a little each time. I knew she wouldn't be interested. I used to be a leader, but I'd given all that up and left to be alone. Now I was falling again.

'All is well in the realm of Ana. And how have you been as of late? Anyone I might need to kill?'

I laughed lightly. Arms wrapped around my pulled up leg as I swung the dangling one.

"Well, we've established we're willing to kill for each other."

I glanced over at her with dark eyes, brushing the sweep of black hair behind my ear so both black eyes could look over her.

"So...what are you doing out here? I know you weren't looking for me."

I looked away as I spoke and my gaze cast itself out across the city. No one seemed to care what I did, where I was. Making it easy for me. A smirk still crossed my lips.

She uncrossed her legs and swung them slowly, and nonchalantly brushed a strand of purple-black hair behind her ear, revealing six piercings. She smiled as she listened to him, and turned to face him. And why wouldn't we? You love to make fun of Dooky Prissy Pants, I like to make fun of Dooky Prissy Pants...it's meant to be. she said smiling, turning her head to look back at the city.

She began to play with her hair a little, something she often did when she was anxious. She sighed inwardly, and began to think of all the reasons he wouldn't like her. So many it seemed...but she snapped back to reality as his voice came wafting to her again, asking why she was out. Well, she honestly didn't have much of an answer for that...

Well, I'm not sure entirely. I just wander when I grow bored. And even if I wasn't looking for you, I'm glad I found you. she said sweetly, avoiding adding anything else. She held a small smile and looked at him, waiting for his reply.

'And why wouldn't we? You love to make fun of Dooky Prissy Pants, I like to make fun of Dooky Prissy Pants...it's meant to be.'

I laughed. Yes, yes, meant to be. I did like her. Whether she liked me or not.

'Well, I'm not sure entirely. I just wander when I grow bored. And even if I wasn't looking for you, I'm glad I found you.'

I glanced to the side and looked over her. Really? She was glad to have found me. Well, that was nice to know. I decided to change the subject, try to dig a little deeper.

"I've been around here for my entire life, and I've never seen you. How'd you end up here?"

I would understand if she didn't answer. But well, it would have been nice for an answer. And if she answered....great...I was at risk for the same question. This only meant, open up, or flee. But I didn't want to flee from her. Not her...

She smiled as he laughed. It was nice to hear such a thing. No one had laughed like that with her around in a long time...she readjusted herself and sat up straight with one of her hands draped across her knee, and the other holding her opposite arm. She nodded as he began to talk, and paused slighly when he asked where she had come from.

Well you wouldn't. I've only recently come here. I've been wandering the world for a long time; quite easy when you have forever, although I originally began in Italy. But anyway, I came to this country a few years ago. And I didn't end up here till a few months or so ago. she answered curtly, a small smile still keeping residence upon her face.

So you've been here for your entire life? she asked him slowly. Why? she asked. She hoped she hadn't prodded anything he didn't like to talk about. It was nice finally sitting down and actually talking to someone.

No Consequence Weighing, His Heart Left Decaying, o-oh

'Well you wouldn't. I've only recently come here. I've been wandering the world for a long time; quite easy when you have forever, although I originally began in Italy. But anyway, I came to this country a few years ago. And I didn't end up here till a few months or so ago.'

I listened carefully. One thing I could do was listen.

'So you've been here for your entire life? Why?'

I looked over at her out of the corners of my black eyes.

"I was born here."

I replied softly. I didn't want to flee from her, so I decided to confess a little.

"I was created by a bite."

My eyes shifted forward again.

"I wasn't exactly a loved child. Thought strange. I wanted to be one of the many vampires I had heard about. I grew close to the leader of the Heart. The Main Vampire. And finally I became a servant for the Main Vampress. And one night, I decided to not let her go as she drank. And when she drained me, I was left as a creature of the night..."

I glanced over at her and then forward again. She was born a vampire, I was created. I knew she would either think me strange for turning. Of course, I was strange. Or she would accept me for me. Either way, I didn't think she'd stay.

And she set to work to have it beating again...

She listened to him closely, and watched him as he spoke. He didn't seem the one to share such personal information often by the way he averted his eyes. Created by a bite, and close to the leader of the heart? Something many could not accomplish she was sure. She smiled softly then, almost sympathising with him. I wasn't exactly normal either. You grow up fast after your mum dies and you've got a bunch of siblings. Then my father got me married off to a lord and I was supposed to be honored. He got a large dowry, and I was left with an older man I did not want. My issues only got worse after I had kids. You are no stranger than I, Syyn, but I'm most definetly more crazy. she said, laughing slightly.

She looked to him, and then turned to face the city again. What a horrible world it could be to people that just didn't fit in. She should've been born here in theis era. It would have definetly been more beneficial to her. No worries about arranged marriages, or children so young since it was frowned upon in this society. Then she began to stare off, thinking about her ghosts, about her children that she left behind. Somewhere out there she had great-great-great-great-great and a bunch more great, grandaughters and grandsons. A scary thought to say in the least...

She shook herself and shivered slightly at the thoughts. Then she began to play with her necklace,a nd looked over to Syyn to see his reaction. He probably thought she was strange, and might be shocked with the fact that she had children. Well she didn't mind if he thought she was wierd, so long as he stayed to talk with her, for she did enjoy his company.

Let Me See You Stripped Down To The Bone...

'I wasn't exactly normal either. You grow up fast after your mum dies and you've got a bunch of siblings. Then my father got me married off to a lord and I was supposed to be honored. He got a large dowry, and I was left with an older man I did not want. My issues only got worse after I had kids. You are no stranger than I, Syyn, but I'm most definetly more crazy.'

So she had children, was a natural born vampire, and well, had been around a while. That was interesting. She seemed more content sharing her story than I was share to mine. I usually didn't become uneasy, but the fear of her standing and looking down on me just before leaving scared the hell out of me. I smirked to shrug off the worried feeling and looked at her.

"I killed the leader of The Heart."

My leg was still hugged to my chest. A smirk spread wide across my face.

"Strongest vampire my ass."

I laughed a little and looked forward. I thought of how I came to be, that initial bite that I refused to let go. I just kept leading her on until she went to far. And then I had killed her leader. I smirked, staring out across the city.

"I had all those vampires under my control."

I ran through the story again in my head, Cersei leaving The Heart, and that new girl stepping up. But well, she just wasn't as good, and when members started to dwindle, it was more fun to slay her too.

"I led them for a little while before they decided to start leaving me, turning on me. So I let them go. The new Main Vampress I had taken on was of no use and I killed her as well."

I was lost in thought now, staring out across all the lights of the city. The glowing amber that burned into the black sky. I regained consciousness, shrugging a little.

"So I just wander around here."

My head turned to looked at her. Smirking crookedly, that signature smile.

And now I lay naked...

She looked to the sleeping city, and back to Syyn, trying to decipher some sort of reaction from him. For a moment he looked uneasy, either from her story or something else she could not be sure, but it was only for a moment. He smirked and looked to her, and told her with what almost looked like confidence, that he had killed the leader of the Heart.

She turned away and blinked, looking somewhat dumb as she did so. After a moment she regained her composure and looked back to him with his malicious smirk, and laughed as he japed at the supposed strongest vampire of the Heart. He must be much stronger than he looked then. She shook the thought off, and merely looked out to the city again, listening to everything else he said calmly.

And so he wandered. She used to, but recently joined the Heart for pure want of rising through the ranks to gain the best piece of the city. He had lived that, and left it as well. She smiled and turned to him, taking in his irresistible crooked smile of his.

Now The World Is Gone, I'm Just One

I looked at her as she turned and blinked, my smirk crossed my lips as I thought of what she must have thought about this entire thing. I gave a soft chuckle. Yeah, I had owned all of The Heart. It hadn't been that big a deal to me. It was just a piece of property the vampires around here thought was necessary to own. Everyone thought it was so great. But I didn't really think so. I had owned it for sometime and it had only caused complications in my own life. It was easy to kill everyone and leave the remaining members to fight amongst themselves for who rightfully owned it. But with no Main Vampress to pick a new Main Vampire, the whole place had went to hell.

I looked back out across the city, she hadn't said a word. Her gaze casted out on the city as well. I glanced back in time to see her smile. Such a pretty smile.

"That was a long time ago though. It was more hassle than anything."

If the world is gone, then where am I?

She shook her head. A hassle it may be, but it was what she wanted for the moment. She did grow tired of wandering. Or perhaps she grew tired of wandering alone? She shook the thought from her head and dropped her gaze. She had had countless people that wandered with her for a short while...short as in long enough to feed her and satisfy other such carnal needs...but still.

She sighed inwardly. Perhaps it was time to find a friend. Or something better perhaps...She merely smiled at the thought and returned her gaze back to Syyn's lovely pale face. And perhaps I've found such a friend... she thought to herself, her lovely but devious little smile continuing to light up her features.

So being leader was no fun? That's a shame. I always imagined it might be quite fun ordering others to do your bidding. she said calmly. She grabbed a piece of hair that dangled about in her face and swept it behind her ear, her gaze seeming to soften as she did so. She did find him cute; I mean it wasn't everyday she found someone who seemed like her.

'So being leader was no fun? That's a shame. I always imagined it might be quite fun ordering others to do your bidding.'

I smirked and looked at her.

"Nope, still wasn't fun."

I dropped my leg down over the edge again and leaned back, my arms propping me up. I glanced over at her. Such a pretty girl. Such pretty eyes. I sighed and looked away.

"It was only fun for a little while, I admit. But, well, after a little while. I realized the Main Vampress was a bitch and I didn't want to be around her. And the new one just kinda well...I don't even know."

I looked back at her with dark eyes, watching her fingers push back a piece of hair. I smiled, not my smirk. An actual smile as my hand caught hers and pushed the piece back along with her, leaning towards her to reach. I paused for a moment, looking over her face before my eyes connected with hers. They shot down as my hand retreated back to me.

"My bad..."

My voice came out quiet, timid. I shifted my gaze to look down on the city. I had never felt so intimidated..never. And by someone I could easily just walk away from.
