A chilling howl echos through the darkness of the night. To the casual listener, this howl would seem exactly like the howl of the common wolf, but to someone who was listening closer, who knew what they were listening for, it would send true fear though the heart. For there was something different about this howl, something more intelligent, more dictate, something altogether more savage.

The smell of the foliage caressed his nostrils. The crunch of the dead leaves beneath his feet. The wind blowing in his fur. The thrill of the hunt, ensnaring his mind. He is Frostfang, he is Lycan. Frostfang ran through the trees, his heightened senses picking up all sorts of things. His night-vision showed him his path, his hearing told him that there was a flock of birds fleeing him. But he was paying attention to these senses. The one sense he was focused on was smell. For it was this sense that told him there were vampires near. He paused for a moment, taking in his surroundings. The Zeevas werewolf made a fearsome sight. He was in his full lycan form, just over seven feet all, standing straight up. His snow-white fur moved in the slight breeze. His formidable fangs dripped with saliva. His ice-blue eyes darted back and forth, always searching for his prey. Vampires. He tilted back his massive head, let out another howl, and continued through the forest, towards the city.

I sniffed the air. I smelt him long before I heard him. I sat comfortably in the branches above him. My feet dangled down and kicked at the dead leaves that twisted in the night breeze. What was he doing out here? This was vampire territory in truth. Exiled vampires had always wandered this ground. I hadn't seen any werewolves in years. I thought they had gone extinct with the lack of sight of them.
I quirked a dark eyebrow and stared down at him. He was hunting I could tell. And more likely than not, it was vampires he was searching for. I rolled my eyes. When would these creatures learn? We were thriving compared to them. And we weren't exactly doing good in my eyes.
He howled again and made his way towards town. Where was he going now? I sighed and hooked my hands around the branch I was sitting on, one to either side of me as I pushed myself from my spot and dropped quickly towards the ground.
I landed lightly, soundlessly even. My fingertips touched the ground to balance myself before I pushed up from my crouched landing position to standing tall. My dark eyes scanned the grounds and landed on the werewolf.
"Might I be of some help?"
My kohl lined eyes stared at the back of his head. [/blockquote][/center]

It stopped to sniff the air again. There was a vampire near. Best to let it think its' in control. The werewolf thought, and kept running. When it dropped down and spoke, Frostfang stopped his steady run, swiveling to face the vampire. In answer to the question he was asked, Frostfang stood on his hind legs, an intimidating seven foot height, and growled,"You can go without too much of a fight."

How funny it was, once more she found that her feet had carried her into the welcoming arms of the dark green foliage. No long surrounded by the dismal workings of the city, no, now she was in a place far more exciting. As if on queue a howl pierced the night, a wolf? No this was something different. The familiar prick of curiosity ebbed on the deep tides of her mind. How long had it been since she had any contact with a supernatural being. One whom she did not need nor could hide her vampiracy from. The cool nights air ruffled at the dingy grey wool cloth of her awful uniform. Her skirt rippled around thin legs, stopping just below her knee. Soft ebony locks rolled down in waves to her slender hips. A single green ribbon tied the locks out of her pretty round child like face. The shade of green was almost as brilliant as her eyes, which looked out from thick black lashes.
Yet again her feet carried her forward, the thirst to have her curiosity satisfied was strong. She so longed for company, and at this point even a wolf of terror was looking more favorable then her lonely solitude. As she walked, not a sound was made. She was like the mist that often covered the grounds here. She jumped over fallen brush, and branches with the grace of a dear in flight. Not far now from the place where the call had been made. Yes it was madness for someone to willingly go looking for a mortal enemy, but sometimes madness was wisdom. She personally held no dislike for the canine immortals, after all they shared in their own ordeals. But she was also well aware of the fact very few creatures felt the way she did. The relationships between vampire and lycan were much like that of a cat and a dog, though in her musing she also remembered even cats and canines got along well enough under the right circumstances.
Her pace quickened, she wasn’t far now she could feel it. Her green eyes caught site of a few silvery strands of fur hanging from the brush. Yes defiantly not far now, as she continued on her journey another familiar feeling ebbed its way into her mind. There was another presence, perhaps another lycan? She raised her small nose up into the air and took a whiff. The sweet scent of the forest instantly washed over her senses, bringing with it two distinct unfamiliar smells. She focused on these, one had the faint smell of fur, no doubt this was the lycan who made the call. The other had the faint lingering smell of blood, a smell she was all to familiar with. She licked her lips, as the small urge to feed crept up. She pushed it back, over her centuries of living she had learned to control this hunger. But still it was an effort to push back the urges the thought of blood had arouse.
After that was under control she once more padded forward, and was soon greeted with the back of a towering figure. She had to crane her slender neck to look up at the top of the beast. He was a good two feet above her, though with her short stature most people towered over her. Her innocent gaze traveled to the other, a boy, this was the one that smelled of blood. A fellow vampire she was guessing, that answer would come soon enough. She cleared her throat announcing her presence.
”A good evenin to ya lads”
Her voice was barely above whisper, but plenty loud to be heard loud and clear. It came off with a musical quality, and it was rich with an Irish accent. She gave them a small curtsy in greeting. A delicate smile on her ivory face, one that looked so much like a precious china doll.

'You can go without too much of a fight.'
A wicked grin crawled across my lips. As if...I wasn't just going to walk away from him. These were vampire hunting grounds. Those of us who felt like getting away from the structure of the clans, or well, if we had been kicked out of the clans, could come here just to sit and think. Or if the need to kill crept over us, we had that right too. Did he really think a vampire was just going to walk away from his 7 feet of false intimidation.
A small snort released itself into the cold night air. He was stupider than I had thought. My arms crossed across my chest as I leaned over to put my most of my weight on one leg and pop my hip out slightly. Yes...I knew I had some pretty pissed off girl actions sometimes, but that's just the way I was. Say a god damn word about it and I'd kill you.
A sense of deviousness flirted with my eyes as I stared at the ridiculous werewolf.
'A good evenin to ya lads.'
Damn everything to heaven.
Who was bothering me now?
My black eyes crossed over to a tiny girl wrapped in a little dress. I had just caught the end of her curtsy. My nose discreetly sniffed the air and tried to take in her scent. We had a polite vampire on our hands. My eyes shifted over to the werewolf. Or well..paws...
I glanced back to the girl. She couldn't have been very old...but in a vampire's world, she could have been a lot older than I thought she was.
My kohl lined eyes connected with her bright green ones. I looked over her dark hair and traced it down her lithe figure to her hips. My mouth pulled up into a crooked grin. I had been with many a girls, humans and vampires alike, but never a goody two shoes. What did she want?
"A little girl like you shouldn't be wandering in the woods alone in the middle of the night." [/blockquote]

It was obvious that the vampire wasn't backing down. The lycan leaned forward slightly, bending his legs, getting ready to pounce when another vampire arrived on the scene. Frostfang wasn't overly worried. He could easily take two vampires, especially one being a little girl. "Last chance. Come without a fight and I'll make it quick and painless."
